In an abrupt shift in the late-season (October–December) typhoon activity over the western North Paciﬁc(WNP) isdetectedbya Bayesianchangepoint analysis. This review provides a summary of the major research progress in the variability of East Asian, Indochina and Western North Pacific Summer Monsoon. Time scales of the reviewed phenomena range from diurnal to interannual and interdecadal.
